You’ll be working in an autonomous role to manage the HR teams for the contract, ensuring harmonisation across sites, driving the agenda and work closely with the Account director to champion best practise and driving change.

Specifics:

• Contract HR Manager with a national remit covering one of their biggest and highest performing contracts
• Oversee a successful HR function, with 6 direct reports (HR Managers) and 10-15 indirect reports across 6 UK sites.
• Deliver consistent framework for people-related activity across the board
• Lead and drive programmes including performance management, talent and succession management, recognition, engagement surveys, learning & development and policy updates
• Work as a confidant for the contract’s Account Director, influencing them to make calculated, evidenced and commercially focused people-related decisions

Requirements:

• Experience of operating as a true business partner and change agent focused on shaping, driving and developing the people agenda across multiple locations
• Extensive experience of HR policy and practice, particularly around disciplinary, grievance, redundancy and TUPE situations, as well as a CIPD qualification
• An understanding in overseeing HR activity across multiple logistics, distribution or supply chain operations
• A ability to effectively communicate with and influence a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels and via a variety of mediums
• Proven experience of managing managers
• A logistics/distribution/retail background would be highly advantageous but not essential.
• You’ll need to have the flexibility and willingness to travel- you’ll manage your own diary but there would be an expectation you’d be spending 2-3 days a week visiting the sites within your remit.
