Job Description

We are currently looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in our London HQ. Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, this role will impact the team as an integral part of the financial operations side of the business.

This is a new opportunity within our Finance team which will focus on Technical Accounting and will influence quality and delivery of the financial data and processes, whilst ensuring that the compliance and tax matters are in order.

From the beginning, you will be mentoring a Junior Finance Associate but you can also expect rapid career progression to Finance Controller, with wider managerial scope, cross-functional projects and being part of our way to IPO.

What you’ll do

• Preparation of consolidated accounts, including all relevant reconciliations (currently for 4 entities: UK, India, US, and Mexico).
• Be responsible for transactional finance (AP / AR / billing etc)
• Manage external service providers in regards to accounting, tax (I.e. VAT, R&D) and compliance related matters
• Be the main point of contact for the group year-end audit
• Transfer pricing ownership
• Assisting and maintaining the Employee Share Options Scheme
• Manage and mentor a Junior Finance Associate
• Support the finance manager and FP&A team on ad hoc projects. Be the bridge between technical finance and commercial finance by providing accurate data in a timely manner.
• Review and improve current processes in place to ensure the finance-operations are run efficiently.

Qualifications

What You Need to Succeed at BlueOptima

• Qualified/part-qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or similar) and/or qualified by experience
• Solid understanding of financial reporting standards (IFRS & GAAP)
• Hands on experience in a multi entity, multi-currency environment.
• Advanced excel skills
• Proven working experience with accounting software (Xero, Quickbooks, billing tools, etc.)
• Experience in managing and supervising payroll for different countries.
• Attention to detail and can explain complex finance concepts to non-finance audience.
• Experience in improving and/or automating operational processes.

Previous experience within the SaaS scope or in a start-up/scale-up environment would be great but not mandatory for the role. We appreciate life experience and focus on finding real passion and potential in candidates!
