School readiness program for children 2-6 years old
WHO WE ARE:
The Scottsdale Children’s Institute is seeking experienced and qualified classroom assistants to work in our inclusive classrooms that utilize the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). We serve children with special needs as well as typically developing children.
WHAT WE DO:
Our primary purpose is to bring the science of teaching and learning into the lives of as many students as possible. We have a modern and well-equipped learning environment.
Our goal is to create one of the finest Kindergarten readiness programs in the country that advances the science of teaching and disseminates this knowledge in consumable formats to parents, professionals, and anyone else who serves the learning and behavioral needs of children with and without disabilities.
We operate inclusive classrooms for children with and without disabilities in which they grow, learn and develop Kindergarten readiness skills in a fun, effective way. Classroom staff provide crucial support and facilitate meaningful relationships that will set the tone for our learners’ school experiences moving forward.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
We are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about working with children and share a love for learning. Applicants MUST have experience in a preschool setting with children with or without disabilities, and must be willing to provide support to our learners throughout the day. Job tasks include but are not limited to:
-Providing support for learners and classroom technician staff throughout the school day in one to one and group settings.
-Assisting with all classroom routines and activities of daily living (arrival/dismissal, snack/lunch time, toileting, hand washing, etc).
-Participating and actively engaging learners in a variety of instructional and non-instructional activities (circle time, leisure time, arts & crafts, academic time).
-Keeping classroom safe and clean by abiding by all public health recommendations and school standards
-Working collaboratively with classroom staff including supervisors, technicians, and other support staff.
-Being flexible and able to adapt to learners’ needs as appropriate.
This a full-time position intended to fill 40 hours per week. Pay starts at $12 per hour and is highly negotiable based upon experience.
Desired Full-time Availability for candidates would be Monday – Friday 8AM – 5ishPM!
We are specifically looking for applicants with the following qualities or characteristics:
· 1-2 years of experience working with children
· 1-2 years of preschool teaching experience
· High School Diploma
· Eager to learn and improve skills
· Ambitious and motivated
· Reliable transportation
· A passion for serving special needs and typically-developing children
· Enjoys working in team based environments
