Key Relationships Reporting to the Accountant the role will need to maintain collaborative relationships
with the Finance and Business Managers, Finance Team, faculty staff and external
stakeholders.

Position Objective:
The position objective is to administer the accounts receivable function to ensure timely and accurate billing and
collection in line with College policies and procedures.
Position Overview:
Primary responsibilities include administration of the Accounts Receivable function, Student Billing and Debtor
Management.

Key Responsibility Areas:
1. Accounts Receivable
- Be the first point of contact with the College in relation to school fees and accounts.
- Correspond with parents and caregivers in person, by phone and email to provide informative and timely
advice in response to fee and finance related enquiries.
- Be responsible for the invoicing of fees and other charges in accordance with the College’s approved Fee
Schedule.
- Manage the College’s main debtor ledger and sub-ledgers and reconcile associated general ledger
accounts.
- Establish and maintain payment arrangements (including management of direct debits).
- Maintain record of deposits and approved concessions.
- Update the annual Fee Schedules.
- Update the database from advice received via the family portal.
- Be responsible for invoicing of fees for the ELC and other related entities.
- Recommend improvements in Debtor Management processes and maintain documentation of
procedures.
2. Debtor management
- Administer and monitor reminder contact to families with unpaid school fees, in accordance with the
College’s Debtor Policy and Fee Schedule.
- Negotiate and agree payment arrangements for accounts.
- Monitor and actively follow up with families under payment arrangements.
- Assess and charge as appropriate late payment charges and interest on overdue accounts.
- Initiate and manage debt recovery action including negotiating and enforcing payment arrangements for
families.
- Make recommendations to management on debtor action including referral for external collection and
legal action.
- Liaise with the College’s external debt collection agency and ensure collection processes are conducted
within College expectations.
- Maintain an audit trail of communications, commitments, and agreements with debtors.
- Prepare and report regularly on debtor performance.
3. Work Health Safety and Wellbeing
- Take reasonable care of and cooperate with actions taken to protect the health and safety of self and others.
- Report all accidents, incidents and hazards as soon as is practicable.
- Read and adhere to all Scotch WHS guidelines and policies.
4. General
- Attend whole staff meetings and others as required.
- Undertake other duties as required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional learning in relation to the requirements of this role.

Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential experience
- Experience working in an equivalent role.
- Ability to use an accounting package.
Essential qualifications, skills and knowledge
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Office
Highly Desirable
- Working knowledge of the Synergetic Database.
- Practical experience working in a school environment.
- Relevant qualifications in finance or accounting.

- Position is employed under the terms and conditions of the College’s Enterprise Agreement.
- The incumbent will undertake regular relevant training to ensure that skills are maintained or enhanced in the
relevant areas of responsibility.
- Successful applicant will be required to take annual leave during the Christmas New Year closure period as
determined by the Principal Must be eligible to work in Australia.
