School of Media and Public Affairs Hiring for Assistant Professor of Media and Public Affairs at Washington D.C. Full Time

The School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University seeks a data journalist to advance the school’s commitment to rigorous education and preparing students for the profession.  This is a full-time, non-tenure – accruing, renewable faculty position offered at the rank of Assistant Professor.  Appointment begins as early as Fall, 2023.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching data reporting, data visualization, and other advanced data journalism courses at the undergraduate level; continuing creative activity, reporting, and/or research; advising students; and performing department and university service.

Minimum Qualifications:  Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree; must have at least five years of experience as a working professional journalist and a minimum of three years working in data journalism; must have a potential for teaching excellence, and must have the ability to collaborate and work in teams.
