The Director of Clinical Science Curriculum

The director is a remote, part-time position reporting to the Vice President of Medical

Education. They are responsible for the recruitment, development, training, and assessment of clinical science faculty contractors who contribute to ScholarRx curricular products. The director works with the Vice President to assess and rapidly expand ScholarRx curricular offerings in the clinical sciences congruent with national/international trends in medical education. They actively participate in the management and meetings of the Department of

Medical Education. There are occasional in-person meetings.

Duties

• Recruit, train, assess, and supervise contracted clinical science faculty in their curricular development and review roles.

• Work with the Vice President of Medical Education to co-design and develop ScholarRx clinical science education offerings

• Oversee production and quality control related to clinical science curricular and assessment resources

• Collaborate with other ScholarRx divisions/departments to enhance clinical curricular offerings.

Requirements

• MD or equivalent degree

• Medical residency certification or equivalent experience

• Full USMLE boards certification

• At least five years clinical teaching in a medical school or other health science institutions

• Broad experience in teaching a variety of clinical topics

• Scientific publication experience

Preferred

• Boards certification in a medical specialty

• Faculty development experience in medical education

• Leadership experience in local, regional, or national medical education

• Objective question design experience (NBME training especially preferred)

• Instructional design and education technology experience in a health science institution

Qualities/Skills

The major key skills of the Director will be the ability to identify and train superb clinical faculty who will create and edit the ScholarRx curriculum, and to maintain a global knowledge of trends in medical education that should inform ScholarRx product design. Along with these skills, the director should also exhibit:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a strong video presence
• Thorough understanding of the pedagogy and content of medical education
• Fluency with medical/scientific writing.
• Expert listening skills
• Ability to recruit and manage a team of contracted faculty
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Ability to motivate, develop, train, and direct people

Compensation and percentage time will be commensurate with experience, qualification, skills, and time commitment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $50.00 – $125.00 per hour
