We have an exciting leadership opportunity for a Technical Support Intern to join our Victoria, BC, Canada, based team. This position reports to the Customer Experience Chapter Leader and is responsible for supporting and enabling our Power Management solutions, consisting of Software and Hardware offers such as Power Meters and Gateways. The role is focused on customer investigations and resolutions but also includes proactive topics such as bug fixes and technical discovery.

What will you do?

Contribute to reproducing, troubleshooting, resolving and documenting technical support cases impacting our customers

Assisting in the development, verification and validation activities of fixes

Assisting in technical discovery on future aspects of the product

Contributing to diagnostics tools and knowledge base articles (internal and external)

(External) English Qualifications:
What qualifications will make you successful?

Working knowledge of Electrical (Operational Technology) and Communication (Information Technology) networks, including operating systems such as Windows Server/Active Directory/Group Policy/IIS and communication protocols such as Modbus, BACNet, OPC DA, IEC61850, SNMP

Customer-service oriented

Self-motivated and self-directed.

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

Demonstrated passion and ability to troubleshoot, with some software maintenance, development and testing capabilities for in-depth resolutions

Inquisitive nature with critical and lateral thinking ability

The ability to work with other developers, testers, technical support, product owners, and application engineers in the customer support lifecycle

Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with customers and technical colleagues, sharing detailed technical information in an easy to understand manner (written and verbal)

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics or Computer Science

Individuals that possess strong troubleshooting skills, and working knowledge of power systems and energy management, should consider applying to this role. You should have some IT experience to combine with your power systems/electrical background.
