Schimma’s Cleaning Services provide commercial and industrial cleaning services across Victoria to a variety of businesses, servicing industries including transport, retail, corporate offices and public spaces. We specialise in public transport and have been cleaning buses and associated facilities continuously since 1993.

About the position

We are looking for an Accountant to manage the finance function for the business to assist us with our growth strategy. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Director and will be responsible for to the following:

· Manage the month end reporting process including the processing of month end journals, reviewing the balance sheet and P&L, preparation of critical analysis and commentary of the accounts

· Preparing accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting

· Ensure compliance with statutory obligations such as BAS, GST and FBT

· Manage all payroll related functions

· Optimise and advise on accounting software to meet the needs of the business

· Budgeting, forecasting and providing analysis of income and costs

· Maintenance of capital expenditure including the creation, depreciation and disposal of assets

· Provide necessary accounts data and advice for capital expenditure

· Supervise accounts payable/ receivable related functions

· Bank reconciliations

· General ledger maintenance

· Journal and month end processing

· Balance sheet reconciliations

· Ensuring general ledger integrity;

· Fully reviewing the end of period draft profit & loss statements

· Develop policies for proper accounts maintenance

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements

• Undergraduate qualifications in accounting
• You have at least 2-3 years experience in a similar role

• Have undertaken or near completion of CA/CPA Program
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Be able to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Efficient time management skills, highly dependable & enjoys being a part of a team
• Experience with Attache, Microsoft Office desired
