Schaumburg Park District Hiring for Superintendent of Finance Job at Schaumburg, IL Full Time

JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Superintendent of Finance is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and activities of the Finance Department while performing senior level accounting duties, such as verifying, recording and analyzing general ledger entries, preparing financial reports and is responsible for the administration of the fixed asset reporting system. Oversees and maintains as necessary the P.O. software, asset management software, banking software and payroll tax return software. Also oversees the accounting portion of the registration system. Accountable for overseeing $40 million District-wide budget. Direct supervisory responsibility for one (1) full-time exempt level employee, three (3) full-time non-exempt full-time employees and one (1) part-time employee. Also responsible for all accounting for the Schaumburg Park Foundation. Acts as backup for the Deputy Director/Director of Finance.

QUALIFICATIONS: The best applicants will have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA a plus. At least seven (7) years relevant experience required. Prior experience in managerial or governmental accounting strongly preferred along with prior supervisory experience, including management of other supervisory level employees. Strong leadership ability and the ability to build a cohesive and productive team. Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with others, including staff, patrons, community stakeholders, board members, and other partnering agencies. Knowledge and skills with computers and software (Outlook, Word, and Excel). Ability to learn additional software and systems required for business transactions. Valid Illinois driver’s license required.

SCHEDULING & PAY: This is a full-time year-round exempt position. Schedule is generally Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 5pm. Target hiring range up to $95,265 annually, DOQ (depending on qualifications).
