Job Summary

Scanning Pens Inc is looking for an experienced, professional and dynamic individual to join our expanding team.

As Director of US Education Services, you will:

• be responsible for sharing and developing examples of good practice of our products to share with education professionals in a variety of settings including the delivery of presentations, seminars, school visits and exhibitions.

• be working closely with the Strategy and Marketing teams, playing an essential role helping Scanning Pens Inc meet its US goals by creating Education focussed teaching resources.

• help us to develop our Succeed with Dyslexia movement

The ideal candidate is creative, motivated, strategic, and passionate about education.

This role can either be home based or from our offices in Clearwater, Florida.

Job Role

To contribute to the improvement of educational provision by:

• providing targeted support to schools and settings to improve adoption of our assistive technology and to improve outcomes for pupils with special educational needs
• championing the learning needs of pupils with special educational needs through blogs, press and additional marketing routes;
• lead national training and professional development activities for teachers of pupils with special educational needs; and
• ensuring that the impact of the Scanning Pens schools’ education programme within the US is evaluated and adjustments made as necessary.
• Designing and delivering appropriate CPD for the use of our technology;
• Leading on pedagogical approaches to support the progress of pupils with special educational needs in the use of our technology;
• Collaborate in activities that support the adoption of Scanning Pen products in a wide range of markets.
• Speak nationally and regionally on a variety of topics that promote the effective use of Assistive technology and to promote our technology.
• Ensuring up-to-date knowledge and understanding of national developments and school issues;
• Applying this knowledge and understanding to the context of Assistive technology;
• Communicating views persuasively in verbal and written form.
• Support the development of education focused case studies and research papers

Ideally you will be/have:

• an exceptional writer with the ability to articulate value propositions to different audiences and in a variety of formats.
• excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels both virtual and in-person.
• Willing to travel extensively.
• A teaching background with English or responsibility for Special Education provision.
• A sound understanding of how Assistive technology is used to enhance teaching and learning.
• Commercially aware, motivated and disciplined.
• Good time management and organisational skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills.
• Computer literate.
• Responsive to customer needs and requirements.
• A team player.
• Experience with grant writing a plus
