About the role

This role is a great opportunity for an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidate who wants to make a world of difference in their next role. We’re looking for candidates who have experience in managing end to end recruitment processes, working with hiring managers to develop bespoke sourcing strategies and approaches and maintaining a solid understanding of the current job and candidate markets. The role will also work to establish deep connections throughout the media sector, the tertiary education sector and among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations and networks.

The duties include but are not limited to:

• Engaging with key leaders and stakeholders to define, design and implement Indigenous talent sourcing solutions
• Supporting the ongoing development of the SBS and NITV Employer Value Propositions in market.
• Coordinating and supporting the SBS Indigenous internship and cadetship programs
• Providing resources or training for hiring managers to enable best practice hiring methodology, recruitment and search procedures, candidate sourcing and management, selection and screening tools
• Performing end-to-end recruiting, including sourcing, interviewing, and reference checking as required
• Developing an engaged and active Indigenous talent community
• Developing and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of the competitive marketplace for Indigenous talent acquisition
• Executing on specialised employment programs and strategies

About you

We are looking for proactive candidates, connected with community and with strong experience in sourcing a diversity of high performing talent across a variety of different roles. Ideally, you would have:

• Demonstrated experience in managing a recruitment process from brief through to onboarding
• Demonstrable experience in actively sourcing Indigenous and/or diverse candidates
• Demonstrated ability to build strong professional relationships. Strong networks within Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and the Media sector preferred.
• Deep understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and knowledge of protocol.
• Well organised with experience in delivering to deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with community and community organisations
• Well-developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to be flexible and uphold these in a demanding deadline driven environment.
