The Department

We exist to ensure that SBS utilises its financial resources as effectively as possible.  To achieve this we strive to provide timely, relevant and clear financial advice and analysis to all cost centres within SBS and support the organisation through strategic challenges and opportunities.

The Role

The successful candidate will support our Finance area which provides a wide range of financial services for SBS including management accounting; budget analysis; purchasing advice; debt control; and accounts payable functions (SBS uses Oracle Financials as its financial management information system).

The position is a 12 month, part-time opportunity. The actual hours to be worked (up to the equivalent of 2 days per week) will be negotiated with the successful applicant to fit in with their study time-table. There is also flexibility to work full time during part of the term holidays and semester breaks.

It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are fully vaccinated with an approved Covid-19 vaccination in line with the ATAGI guidelines which include booster shots. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you

We are seeking a student in the mid or later stages of their degree who has an interest in working in finance within a media environment. Ideally you will have an interest in the future studying for your ACA/CPA qualifications.

• Mid or later years of studying for a financial degree (Business/Commerce/Economics).
• Preferably planning to study in future for ACA/CPA qualifications.
• Keen interest in a finance career in the media environment.
• Available to work in Artarmon, Sydney.

• Highly developed Strong oral, written and personal communication skills.
