Software Development Team Lead | Savanta, Cambridge, UK
Savanta is a technology-driven insights, research, and data consultancy. We work with some of the world’s best-known brands, governments and government departments, regulatory and industry bodies, high profile non-profits and member associations, as well as marketing agencies and management consultancies. Our technology platform, online services, and the digital products we run on them underpin all our operations, enabling us to offer clients the full range of integrated intelligence services that helps them make better decisions.
We’re currently looking for a talented Team Lead to join our 30-strong Technology Team and help us deliver the ambitious and exciting milestones in an evolving roadmap across our full range of products and services.
The Team Lead Role:
As well as being excellent Engineers, our Team Leads lead and manage their cross-functional teams with accountability for project delivery. Teams typically consist of 3-4 Engineers, a UX Designer and a QA Specialist, a Product Manager and a business stakeholder per project.
You’ll get hands-on and see the impact of your work very quickly in an agile environment: our typical project lifecycle is between two and six weeks and, although we often work on initiatives that run longer, we always divide these up into smaller projects and aim to ship regularly. You’ll have the room to learn from supportive and collaborative colleagues, with time set aside for professional development and more self-directed work on a regular basis.
Day to day, your key focus areas will include:
Our Tech Stack includes:
About You
You’ll be a seasoned Software Engineer with significant industry and team management experience. Ideally, you’ll be based within a commutable distance of our Cambridge office in order to spend a few days with the team per week (or more, if you’d like to). We want you to dive in, get your hands dirty, and figure things out, but also to be someone your team can rely on for help and guidance when they need it in person. The successful applicant will demonstrate:
About Us
Headquartered in the UK with growing offices in the US, Canada, and India, Savanta employs 450 people globally and has ambitious growth plans. We offer the benefits of scale, whilst our specialist practices, with their deep expertise and agile teams built around individual clients, make life at Savanta feel more like working at smaller, ‘boutique’ agency.
Our clients include Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, RBS, Lego, Wagamama, The Cabinet Office, Sport England, Coutts, Sainsbury’s, Deliveroo, Unilever, Coca Cola, Bentley, Barclays, Formula 1, and Diageo. The work we do is as varied as the client portfolio: from understanding customer behaviour and customer experience to helping optimise business performance with actionable insights that move the dial, understanding the electorate and informing government policy.
Part of the Next 15 Group, we have an entrepreneurial culture that actively recognises and values its people and offer fantastic career development opportunities. As well as a highly competitive salary and contributory pension scheme, ‘Savanteers’ enjoy a 35-hour work week, unlimited holiday allowance, and an excellent benefits package including gym membership or private medical insurance, life assurance and and flexible working practices.
