We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join our multidisciplinary team for a project constructing fuel storage tanks in Darwin. This is a full time role for a fixed term of 14 months.

THE ROLE

The role will monitor and prepare financial information relating to the Darwin projects, ensuring early identification of any potential project risks or opportunities.

Your responsibilities include:

• Development and maintenance of cost control procedures for the project.
• Forming a detailed understanding of the costs and make-up of costs on the project.
• Cost control and forecasting, including baseline budget revisions and monthly forecasting reviews.
• Prepare actual cost & quantity progress, reflecting the latest status of the Project.
• Analysing cost variances and corrective measures with the Project Manager.
• Reviewing monthly forecast cost and revenue requirements in collaboration with Project Manager and Project Engineers and attend review meetings.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

To be successful you will have:

• Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Finance Accounting or Engineering Related Disciplines
• 2+ years’ experience working in similar position
• Ability to grow and maintain strong relationships through excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Solid understanding of accounting concepts, including how project information and performance relates to P&L and cash performance
• Competent in systems eg. Jobpac and MS office suite
