About the SAP HANA Tooling Team

The SAP HANA Tooling team provides cloud-hosted, web-based graphical tools used by some of the world’s largest enterprises to access, monitor, and develop for SAP’s data management and data analytics technologies. We expose powerful data management and analytics features in an intuitive way so that customers can achieve their goals quickly, efficiently, and easily. We also ensure high availability of our cloud services and deliver outstanding levels of data security.

As a Full Stack Software Developer your tasks will include designing and implementing features within the product, creating automated tests for your features, addressing customer issues, and adapting to technology change. You’ll collaborate with other developers, product managers, user experience designers, user assistance developers and quality engineers to ensure the final product delights our customers with its functionality, quality, and usability.

Expectations and Tasks

We are looking for software developers with strong programming skills and a passion for creating great user experience. Successful applicants will have a strong ability to learn, combined with the tenacity to solve problems independently and a strong focus on the details required to create first rate software.

In this position, you will:
Take features from vague descriptions to clear, crisp designs including mockups

Implement, revise and polish your designs to produce a shipping product

Focus on Software quality, performance and scalability

Develop your skills in implementing browser-based user interfaces in JavaScript and writing server-side logic in JavaScript and Java

Build a strong foundation in relational database concepts

Contribute innovative new ideas to shape the product

Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, user assistance developers and quality engineers

Work with a group of committed, driven and talented software developers and architects who are passionate about that they do

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related discipline

Experience in UI development using JavaScript

Experience with Node.js

Exceptional ability to write clear, readable, modular, scalable, efficient software

Strong problem solving and communication skills

Java and full stack development experience preferred, especially with large, complicated systems

Experience with cloud hosted software and common cloud technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Python and Jenkins is a plus

Significant hobby programming experience (including personal projects, hackathons and programming contests) is an asset

Strong academic performance (for recent graduates)
