This is an on-call/as-needed part time position scheduled
weekdays between 7:00am – 4:30pm. The incumbent can be scheduled
from 0-20 hours per week. This position is based out of
Los Angeles/Ventura.

Academy for Professional

Child Welfare Development Services (CWDS) provides
workforce development, organizational support, technical assistance
and capacity building for the public child welfare staff of
Southern California counties. These services include coaching,
simulation, classroom training, eLearning and evaluation services.
Workforce development services consist of development opportunities
for new social workers, the existing workforce, supervisors,
managers and executive level leadership as well as community
partners and multi-disciplinary partners working closely with child
welfare agencies.

Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the CWDS Training
Coordinator, the Training Host is responsible for
providing general support for training operations. This includes
supporting trainers and trainees in the virtual and/or classroom
environment; managing the training environment; preparation of
training materials; and various on and off-site coordination tasks.
This position is part time, on an on-call basis, and work is
primarily in a training environment.

This position is currently virtual, requiring telework. At this
time there is not a planned date to return to in-person training.
The requirements of this position may change if in-person
coverage is requested in the future. In-person coverage
requires travel to training sites in the LA/Ventura area.

elder abuse and/or issues and scenarios related to mental health,
substance use, and/or racism.

SPECIFIC DUTIES

TRAINING SUPPORT (95%)

• Support training events in a virtual or in-person classroom
  environment up to 3-8 days per month on average
• In the virtual classroom, run training in the zoom platform and
  manage minor technical issues
• In the in-person classroom, assures training environment is
  kept in a clean and organized manner on a daily basis
• Support trainer needs and sends reminders to trainers and
  trainees of upcoming trainings one week prior to the training day
  including location of training
• Administer evaluations, pre/post tests, and provide assistance
  (as needed) maintaining the integrity and security of evaluation
  and pre/post test data
• Evaluate training day using training observation form scoring
  rubric on the following: trainer preparedness, training content,
  transfer of learning and Evidence Based Practice, training
  delivery, and strengths and challenges
• Set up technology (laptops, projectors, speakers, tablets) and
  ensure they are functioning properly before and during the
  training
• Purchase hosting snacks and refreshments for training on and
  off-site
• Move audio/visual equipment and other training materials
  (weighing up to 50 pounds) for various classrooms and event
  needs
• Store training materials and host items in personal residence
  or vehicle
• Provide short presentations to groups of 10-35 trainees on an
  occasional basis
• Communicate clearly, efficiently, accurately and in a timely
  manner with Training Coordinators, Training Operations Assistants
  and County Partner

  worksite when needed.
• The COVID-19 vaccine is required by the CSU for all SDSU
  Research Foundation employees as a condition of employment. Should
