Description: The Marketing Assistant works with the Chief Creative Officer to support the needs of the marketing department. The primary function of this role is to work as an intricate member of the Marketing team helping to create, organize, and distribute information for internal and external use.

Work Environment: Office:70 to 72 degrees, dry business atmosphere inside main building.

Distribution Center: (Occasionally) Cold, wet, and frozen environment, Distribution center is maintained at 37 degrees Fahrenheit to below freezing temperatures to maintain the proper storage of products. –

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

• Assists with the Daily SpecialsCommunicate with buyers in person and via email (UNIX & Outlook) to collect and organize all items to put on special for the following day

Create Daily Specials email in Constant Contact in an entertaining, informative manner with descriptions and photos for use by the sales team and customers
Update Daily Specials prices in UNIX system for Philadelphia & Pittsburgh
Ensure Daily Specials are posted to Samuels Seafood website
Ensure Daily Specials are recorded on the overnight phone message
Ensure the sales team has printed copies of the Daily Specials

• Oversees the email list on Constant ContactAdd/delete customers and employees to the email database

Responsible for updating the email database
Develop email lists based on customer locations

• Generates content for Point of Sale (POS) Material, Back of the Invoices, Digital Marketing Campaigns, Fish Tales, Social Media, and Website use (Samuels Seafood, Giuseppe’s Market, and Ippolito’s Seafood) that educates sales staff, customers, and press on company brands and products
• Maintains the marketing wall and brochure racks in Giuseppe’s Market, and the wholesale area with POS material Printing POS materials and Fish Tales

Cutting POS materials
Restocking POs materials

• Provides various satellite offices with marketing materials
• Works with the sales team to provided marketing materials as needed
• Writes articles for Fish Tales, Weekly Updates, and social media content
• Conducts interviews for Fish Tales and social media content
• Creates weekly order for marketing supplies

Other Responsibilities:

• Pitches story ideas and concepts for various marketing initiatives
• Assists by recording the Daily Specials on the overnight phone message
• Assists with Social Media and Weekly Market Meetings
• Assists with Florida and Vegas Specials
• Assists with Produce Update and Shellfish Update
• Assists with Monthly Specials
• Assists with PFG and AFI Specials
• Assists with Product Knowledge (PK) Sessions
• Assists with Sample Program
• Assists at Giuseppe’s Market as needed
• Assists sales representative with swag and maintains a spreadsheet to track swag
• Assists with Holidays at Samuels
• Contributes to event planning and trade shows
• Performs other duties as deemed by management

Expectations:

· Strong communication skills, including but not limited to verbal, written, and proofreading

· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects at a time

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google +, and Constant Contact

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

· Sits up to 60% of time

· Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Hearing 100% to help detect mobile equipment horns, delivery truck horns and back up signals, communication with team members.

Pay: $18.14 – $21.85 per hour
