In order to build the best products and services possible for our merchants, young people are a vital ingredient to our diverse team structures. In our short history, fresh minds that have shown the capacity to learn and adapt quickly have been afforded opportunities and responsibilities not afforded in other companies of our size. While recognising the importance of new graduates and young people in our talent strategy, we have learned that not everyone looking at a career at SaltPay will know what field to apply for, or how their skills will suit the different business challenges we face.
Our Finance Rotation Program has been designed with this opportunity in mind.
Over the course of 3 different 6-month rotations, over 18 months, we will give recent graduates the opportunity to learn more about the core finance functions that help us manage a fintech operation growing into new regions, product categories and financial challenges. During this time you’ll work alongside leaders and peers in 3 of the following core functions:
FP&A: financial planning and analysis to understand business dynamics and budget considerations
Controllership: ensuring our book-keeping is compliant with financial audit processes
Treasury: managing our liquidity and relationships with banks
Systems: automating manual tasks and implementing a single ERP for the group
There may also be a chance to rotate into other finance teams; procurement, tax, M&A, risk based on the business need at the time of rotation.
During each rotation, candidates will be given a side project aimed at demonstrating learning and applying problem-solving skills to a problem facing the team. As part of this exercise, candidates will need to consult with stakeholders across the finance team and the rest of the business, and will then have the chance to present their findings to a panel of functional leaders.
Alongside this opportunity we will sponsor the cost of a professional qualification (including the cost of preparatory courses) to complement the practical experience you will gather during rotations.
The goal of this program is to nurture future finance leaders at SaltPay, and successful candidates that been able to demonstrate cultural and performance fit will be given a full-time opportunity in one of our core finance teams at the end of the rotational program.
We are looking for recent (or soon-to-be graduates) who are passionate about the world of finance and are willing to be adaptable to the challenges faced across our finance team as we scale the business.
Preferably holding a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related fields
Fluent in English (fluency in a second language fluency is a benefit but is not mandatory)
High energy, fast learning, self-motivated and proactive to take ownership of projects
Great analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
Excellent MS Excel skills
