We are seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to manage our Accounting Department. Successful candidate must have 8 years of managerial accounting experience and a CPA license is preferred. Candidate must also have strong leadership skills and excellent communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct the financial planning and budgeting activities of the organization.
• Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for accounting activities.
• Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and reports required by regulatory agencies.
• Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and procedures.
• Analyze financial details of past, present, and expected operations in order to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
• Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of company assets.
• Lead staff training and development in all accounting areas.
• Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
• Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Qualifications:

· 8+ years of managerial accounting experience

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required

· CPA license preferred

· Must have a solid understating of GAAP and financial reporting

· Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)

· Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains ERP is a plus

· Working knowledge of all financial and business management function including AR, AP, Audit preparation, and GL management

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

· Strong organizational and attention to detail abilities

· Ability to work well with deadlines and quickly adapt to changing priorities
