JOB TITLE: Vice President – Education and Shows

REPORTS TO: Chief Customer Officer

LOCATION: St. Petersburg, FL (SalonCentric National Operation Center)

The VP – Education & Shows has the ultimate responsibility for the creation, development, and implementation of the SalonCentric Education strategy, message, and materials, as well as the overall image, financial success, and growth of SalonCentric’s Education program.

This role will strategically plan and coordinate ongoing technical and content development for innovative education offerings.

The VP – Education & Shows will accomplish these goals and objectives through continuous development and execution of a specialized development plan. This role works closely with peers including Sales, Marketing, Digital, Finance, and HR.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create competitive and breakthrough strategies that show a clear connection between vision and action
• Work cooperatively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives
• Encourage diverse thinking to promote and nurture innovation
• Manage complexity – Acquire data from multiple and diverse sources when solving problems
• Build and deliver solutions that meet customer expectations
• Collaborate with Partner Brands and Professional Product Division (PPD) brands to create meaningful educational experiences for SalonCentric customers
• Develop principle-based curriculum in training, hair design, hair color, texture, styling, and business
• Assistance with new product launches and renovations with educational strategies and training programs to ensure successful implementation
• Plan and execute a multitude of educational events, including but not limited to SalonCentric’s presence at major trade shows and the annual SalonCentric National Conference
• Assess the training requirements and needs of varying markets to support sales goals

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 8 -10 years of developing education strategy; demonstrated thorough understanding of educational programs and philosophies
• Exceptional business acumen is required, including experience with budgeting and P&L management
• Ability to build and maintain relationships, as well as communicate ideas in a compelling and persuasive manner to influence key stakeholders and cross-functional team members
• Proven leadership skills with significant people responsibility; motivating and developing upper management-level direct reports, as well as team members throughout the Education department
• Proven project management and planning experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Highly resourceful and flexible, with the ability to solve problems in a timely manner
• Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Outlook/Teams)
• Beauty industry or beauty distributor experience is optimal
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or other relevant field of study (or equivalent work experience) required
• Must be able to remain stationary or sit for the majority of a scheduled day
• Must be able to stand and move around office or event as needed
• Ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment throughout the day
• Ability to travel up to 35% as needed

SalonCentric has workplace flexibility and programs to help manage our work and personal responsibilities which include up to 2 days of work remote a week for most functions. However, we are not able to accept candidates that require fully remote work arrangements at this time.
