Salcomp Plc Hiring for Manufacturing Quality Manager at Arlington, TX Full Time

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Under direction of the Plant Manager, this position will lead our team of inspectors, technicians and engineers while planning, coordinating and directing the quality control/system program designed to ensure continuous improvement of production and products consistent with established standards as while maintaining quality system compliance

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO, and regulatory/legal requirements.
• Monitor all operations that affect quality as well as manage and coordinate ISO Audit, internal and external, and corrective Action Plans
• Define and develop continuous improvement initiatives relating to ISO while overseeing all process development procedures to identify any deviations
• Review of new or changed product to determine manufacturing feasibility and quality requirements
• Conduct training and internal assessments to ensure implementation and effectiveness of internal controls
• Inspect procedures of the entire production cycle to ensure they are efficient and comply with requirements
• Keep up on standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product quality along with maintaining accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis
• Implement and maintain internal export / import controls to ensure compliance with U.S. government export / import regulations such as the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) Assist in integrating licensing strategies to obtain necessary export and import authorizations to support full compliance with all regulatory agencies
• Interpreting U.S. trade regulations (ITAR) and monitor the necessary U.S. Government export / import licenses, agreements, permits, certifications and technology release determinations
• Submit detailed s to appropriate executives & supports investigations and other compliance matters in addition to performing audits to verify conformance of activities to quality standards (including ISO compliance)
• Oversee internal audits, generate corrective actions of non-compliant processes, work with area supervisors to correct noncompliance and/or recommend process changes to meet quality system objectives and requirements in addition to writing and submit audit schedule, plans and s as required
• Interface with external auditors and regulatory quality agencies, primary contact for all external audits of the quality system, escort auditors during on-site audits
• Ensure timely resolution of quality problems and implement long-term solutions to prevent reoccurring problems
• Other duties may be assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Build a team of highly engaged, knowledgeable members to support quality initiatives for the company
• Hold weekly meetings, training sessions and process improvement sessions to improve communication, knowledge and efficiency
• Facilitate SPC/Corrective Action meetings, interpret condition of SPC charts, determine if any corrective/preventive action is necessary and assign appropriate individuals responsible for the correction action
• Follow up on delinquent corrective action requirements to ensure those responsible have the proper direction, resources and understanding of what needs to be addressed and when it needs to be completed
• Document results of meetings and generate corrective action request where appropriate
• Maintain corrective action systems; publish corrective action list and review status weekly with appropriate managers
• Plan, promotes, schedule and organize internal/external training activities related to product quality and reliability to appropriate personnel

Qualifications

This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or another science-based field. Thorough understanding of manufacturing and production in the industry. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

LICENSURE:

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Lift/carry 40lb. or less, push/pull 40lbs. or less.
• This position may require long periods of sitting, standing, and walking.
• Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
• Use of gauges calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
