What This Position Is All About: 

Saks O5 adds thousands of new items onto the website each week and the Sample Coordinators are responsible for pushing these products to their photo studio partners.  The Sample Coordinator is also responsible for managing the turn-in of vendor provided assets, from the point of vendor requests to tracking product samples through the lifecycle, and providing product information for copy writing teams. 

Cross-functional partners at this level include:

• Associate Buyers/Buyers over ownership categories
• Vendor Coordinators
• Copy & Item Setup Associates

You Have:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• 1-2 years’ experience in retail, managing samples, merchandising or similar experience preferred
• Strong passion for retail
• Strong organizational skills and passion for documentation and process 
• Keen eye for details
• Competency in Excel (v-lookups, sumifs, etc.)
• Ability to build strong partnerships internally and externally
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbally
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, multi-task and manage deadlines

As The Sample Coordinator, you will:

• Responsible for processing physical merchandise from the DC, including staging and turning items into the photo studio, compiling daily photo shoot lists, tracking the progress through the lifecycle, and collecting all data needed for product copywriting.
• Ownership of a particular area of business, and ensuring that all items flow through the lifecycle process. Troubleshooting items that are stuck in workflow, items that have been sent back in the process, and providing clarification on products. Communication with cross-functional partners (Merchants, Item Setup, Distribution Center contacts) for item issues.
• Process vendor provided imagery and copy points for items that have been requested from the vendor, and bypass the photo studio process.
• QA merchandise for on-site photo studio by ensuring items are pressed and prepared, and all items are shoot ready, and sending back items to previous team that are not shoot ready.
• Manage sample logistics (pack, unpack, send back to vendor, track)
• Assist Management with ad hoc projects
