Saks Fifth Avenue Hiring for Manager, Store Merchandising and Planning at New York, New York Full Time

What This Position is All About:

As a strategic partner to the Stores organization, the Manager, Store Merchandising and Planning will support and drive the merchandise strategy at the store level. They will lead the development, implementation, communication, and execution of strategy that optimizes the vendor matrix, assortment and space optimization on a by store basis – addressing unique store requirements and opportunities. In partnership with the Director, Store Merchandising, they will be responsible for partnering with SFA Regional Directors of Stores (RSVPs), Store General Managers, Assistant General Managers and Saks merchants in order to accomplish these objectives.

Qualifications

Role Responsibilities (include but not limited to):

• Fosters and facilitates communication between SFA stores and Saks merchants with a focus on: High volume and/or high potential strategic merchandising opportunities (i.e. category expansion, floor productivity, brand matrix edits)
• Captures high-level merchandise feedback from RSVP visits, corroborates recommendations with data, and develops action plans
• Identifies merchandise category opportunities in key markets
• Evolving customer, market, and competitive trends
• Division, group and/or specific vendor productivity challenges
• Fosters and facilitates communication between SFA stores, financial planning and Saks merchandise planners with a focus on:
• Sets seasonal sales plans at the store-level
• Gross Margin trends and risks
• Store-to-Store transfer opportunities
• Provides SFA stores and executives with custom reporting and presentations including, but not limited to: Annual store productivity books and profiles in collaboration with Manager of reporting and analytics
• Store visit preparations
• Weekly business review for stores in collaboration with Director, SVP of stores.
• Develops productive partnerships that serve to drive business forward, including but not limited to: SFA RSVPs, Store General and Assistant General Managers and Saks merchants and merchandise planners
• Holds stakeholders accountable to execute action plans and deliver results. Reports out results to pertinent leadership in a timely manner

You Have:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in retail merchandising and planning required
• Prior store-line management experience preferred
• Strong business and financial analysis skills, with a demonstrated mastery of retail math
• A proven ability to assess and address challenges and develop recommendations and execute strategic actions plans.
• Strong communication/negotiation skills and the ability to persuade stakeholders in a direction that achieves objectives.
• The ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of an organization, and the poise to manage-up to senior leadership
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Suite required
• College degree preferred
• The availability and flexibility to travel to stores as required

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $77,000 and $90,000; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
