In a nutshell

Lead our efforts to better understand the potential financial impacts of climate and nature risks and opportunities on our business today and in the future. Using this insight and working with the sustainability team to support strategic decisions and investments today to build long term business resilience.

Finance business partner the delivery of our ‘Plan for Better’ sustainability strategy, leading on our ‘climate’, ‘nature & sustainable sourcing’ and ‘healthy & sustainable diets’ pillars.

Responsibilities

Deliver Group’s TCFD (climate) analysis and reporting:

Lead cross-functional TCFD working group

Expand financial modelling to measure the impact of climate change on different areas of our business under different temperature scenarios

Write best-in-class TCFD Annual Report disclosure

Work with sustainability team to develop Net Zero transition plan

Work with sustainability team to embed climate insight into commercial delivery

Deliver Group’s TNFD (nature) analysis and reporting:

Lead cross-functional TNFD working group

Develop financial modelling to measure the Group’s impacts and dependencies on nature

Participate in external forums to keep up to date with the latest developments

Write best-in-class TNFD Annual Report disclosure

Work with sustainability team to embed nature insight into commercial delivery

Business partner our Plan for Better:

Support decisions and investments to deliver our Plan for Better sustainability strategy

Finance lead for ‘climate’, ‘biodiversity & sustainable sourcing’ and ‘healthy & sustainable diets’ pillars

Provide assurance on external sustainability reporting

Personal requirements

Passion for sustainability

Qualified Accountant or relevant strategy / risk / banking / data background

Experience of presenting to Senior stakeholders

Experience of delivering cross functional complex projects, and managing multiple deadlines and stakeholders

Advanced Excel skills and experience of financial modelling

Strong strategic and commercial mindset

Understanding of sustainability issues in finance, and ideally knowledge of TCFD and TNFD

Experience of drafting Annual Report disclosures, ideally
