Saguaro Lake Ranch Hiring for Assistant Manager at Mesa, Arizona Full Time

We are looking for an assistant manager who can help our current managers and be a hands-on leader with the rest of our staff. We hope to promote this person to General Manager in 1-2 years as they learn the business and show they are ready.

This person will not be sitting at a desk most of the time. Instead, they are walking the ranch grounds looking for potential problems, checking rooms to make sure they are up to standards, speaking with the chef to make sure the kitchen is running smoothly, interfacing with our event manager to make sure the corporate or wedding group is happy, interfacing with our recreation manager to make sure our kayaking operation is going according to plan, or just chatting with guests in a friendly but professional manner that makes them feel like they are part of the family. This is a working assistant manager position which means that you will often be working with our other employees as you manage them, not just telling them what to do. As you get to know the ranch, you will help with employee scheduling and the hiring and training of employees.

We have a great team here already at the ranch and we want someone who is friendly, works well with others, and can manage others without being overbearing. This person should have good organizational skills, be self-directed, and be able to see potential issues or problems before they arise. This is NOT a corporate environment and all employees are asked to pitch in wherever required.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in hospitality and previous management experience. This is a full time position that includes health benefits, paid vacation, a 401k plan, and a discretionary bonus. Salary depends on experience but will be very competitive. 50-60 hours per week expected.
