The Safety Codes Council is an independent, self-funded regulatory organization mandated to provide oversight of the system and technical disciplines through a number of key legislated functions and client focused services. We provide leadership by guiding, educating, supporting, and collaborating with all stakeholders in Alberta’s safety codes system.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Under the direction of the Manager, Policy, the position provides stakeholder engagement and policy advice to Council on Alberta’s safety system that integrates stakeholder perspectives, government policy objectives, the safety system’s legislative and regulatory framework, and operational considerations.

Provide secretariat support and program administration for the ongoing sub-council stakeholder engagement initiatives, including building agendas, coordinating and attending sub-council meetings, taking minutes, coordinating correspondence, providing guidance to working groups, and maintaining a detailed data base of all Council members and their nominating organizations.
