CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY : The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for managing a high volume of outbound shipment activities, while managing costs and performance.

Responsibilities include scheduling shipments with our customers, ensuring all the documentation for these shipments are both complete and accurate, controlling cost of these shipments, and compiling certain shipping and receiving s for upper management.

This position works directly on-site at the client’s facility, to maintain the flow of goods shipping out of the plant, ensuring that both internal and external customer demands are fulfilled timely, compliantly, and completely according to standard processes and client deliverables.

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

Route and track all FTL outbound cargo in accordance with customer requirements, Load measurements and DOT requirements.Communicate with shippers, brokers, customers, etc.

as needed to facilitate the routing process and minimize the risk of issues and delays.Resolve shipping issues and ensure appropriate client contacts are informed.

Coordinate and support export documentation filing and processing as needed, such as for certificates of origin, customs invoices, and packing lists.

Prepare shipping labels, packing slips, and all other required shipping documents.Send pre-alerts with all customs documents to the customer, client’s Customer Service Representative and / or Accounting as needed.

Coordinate with carriers and logistics providers to arrange to pick up of goods or to arrange other shipping instructions.

Verify that all shipments scheduled for pickup have left the facility; discrepancies.Comply with agreed-upon document retention procedures.

Actively look for and capture savings and added value opportunities when possible.Ability to work on a Safer site or Safer Logistics customer location site while performing the essential functions of this position.

Uses, carries, and answers their cell phone for business purposes as determined by the assigned job duties and the department headOther duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : College degree preferred, one (1) to two (2) years’ experience required in warehouse or shipping, SAP Experience preferred, customer service experience preferred.

Equivalent years of experience are defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.SKILLS AND ABILITIES : Be comfortable working in a fast past environment, be able to resolve client and carrier issues with ease, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, Have high proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Analyze data to improve processes within the warehouse.

LICENSING AND CERTIFICATIONS : NonePHYSICAL DEMANDSPositions in this class typically requires exerting up to 25 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and walking the warehouse all day.
