Safebox Ventures Hiring for Finance Executive Assistant Job at Newbury Park, CA Full Time

Safebox is looking for a skilled Finance Executive Assistant to work on location at our biotech client for this three month contract role. Responsibilities include effectively performing daily accounting operations, monthly close processes, and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial data.

In addition to daily and monthly responsibilities, this person will also assist the Assistant Controller in maintaining accounting policies, and timely execution of new processes .

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, self-motivated team player with a good working knowledge of general ledger, system processes, internal controls, US GAAP and SOX regulations, while maintaining a high level of integrity. The candidate should be comfortable working collaboratively and independently with good problem solving skills and perseverance.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly, quarterly and annual close activities to ensure timely, accurate and complete financial records and reporting in accordance with US GAAP and the Company’s accounting policies
• Prepare and enter journal entries and perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Prepare monthly reports, fluctuation analysis and financial statements
• Perform bank reconciliations, initiate wires/payments to vendors, etc.
• Support and assist with audit preparation including PBC or any ad hoc projects as directed by management
• Prepare annual reports and filings (e.g., 1099 to vendors, etc.) as needed
• Act as a back-up for accounts payable specialist

Professional Qualifications

• 3-5 years progressive industry accounting experience or 3 plus public accounting experience
• Good understanding of accounting principles and experience in applying principles in practice
• Good Excel skills required (pivot table, VLOOKUPs)
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP experience
• Strong analytical skills, with the proven ability to analyze data and transactions and suggest/implement continuous improvements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changes resulting from a dynamic and growing business environment
• Experience in a public company environment is a plus

Education

• BS/BA degree in Accounting, or equivalent
