Job Qualifications:
Medical Student Education Coordinator
Implements and assists in the formulation of policies and procedures relating to the MSPE process. Take ownership and carry out major assignments. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
Coordinates the MSPE (Medical Student Performance Evaluation) process and collaborates with the M4 students and the Assistant Dean to ensure accuracy.
Organizes the Residency application process, documents and tracks student projects, and organizes all presentations.
Compiles and edits materials for the Committee on Curriculum and Evaluation.
Manages the application process for awards and scholarships including compiling academic history, CV’s, personal statements, collecting the applications, and organizing application reviews.
Support the advising program including scheduling, correspondence, documentation, and ordering supplies as needed.
Supports RMC standing committees as assigned. (May involve scheduling, staffing, monitoring and documentation, creating, or obtaining information/data).
Documents office procedures this position performs into organized, understandable written outlines.
Maintains high standards of customer service, productivity, and the Rush core values. Maintains a professional demeanor and is dedicated to the goals of OMSP and the institution.
Attend administrative meetings.
Creates, updates, revises, and retrieves records and files of confidential nature, keeps all forms updated and available.
Maintains student files: photocopies, types, scans and files student-related documents.
Maintains personal contact information for students and faculty.
Assists with special projects by request of the Assistant Dean.
Composes correspondence, coordinates and arranges meetings, answers and redirects incoming calls, records and delivers messages to the appropriate individuals, maintains confidential files, and orders office supplies.
Self-evaluates and sets professional goals, develops plans for continuing education and training to meet the needs of the program, and attends job-related training and in-service sessions.
This position may require some evenings and weekends.
Required Job Qualifications:
Two years’ work experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat Professional with strong keyboard skills.
Familiarity with medical terminology.
Excellent organizational abilities with attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize appropriately and meet deadlines, setting goals, and managing multiple complicated tasks, and working with minimal or no supervision.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written; exemplifying a professional, courteous manner when communicating.
Perform as a team player with a good sense of humor, enthusiasm, and patience.
Act as a role model and a resource for other department administrative support staff.
Take initiative and represent the college independently.
Demonstrate professionalism in dealing with confidential information.
Work with faculty and students in a collegial and collaborative manner.
Ability to anticipate problems before they arise and solve others as they occur.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree.
Two years’ work experience in a healthcare environment.
