Accountant

Full Time – Temporary to September 2023

$79,062pa + super

The Rural City of Wangaratta are seeking a motivated and dynamic Accountant to join the Finance Team. In delivering quality accounting services to the organisation, you will:

• Assist with the preparation of statutory financial reporting and returns
• Ensure the effectiveness of internal controls and the integrity of the general ledger
• Develop strong working relationships and provide accounting advice and support to internal customers
• Identify and enable continuous improvement initiatives

The ideal applicant will have

• Degree qualifications in Accounting and well developed knowledge of financial processes
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated initiative and problem-solving ability
• The ability to work well in a team and manage competing demands
