RumbleOn is adding a key management position at our headquarters in Irving, TX – Head of Technical Accounting & External Reporting. This newly-created high-profile position will be responsible for all aspects of technical accounting research and external/SEC reporting for the nation’s largest retailer of powersports vehicles.

The Head of Technical Accounting & External Reporting will be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of the Company’s SEC filings, as well as technical accounting research, analysis and documentation of significant or unusual transactions and recently issued accounting standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the quarterly review and annual audit processes and be the primary point of contact for our external auditors. This role requires strong technical background and US GAAP experience specifically in debt accounting, leases, variable interest entities, derivatives, revenue, and stock-based compensation.The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who exhibits the drive to produce results. They will have proven experience applying their extensive accounting knowledge and passion for data to drive business-critical decisions in a publicly traded company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead Company’s SEC reporting function including the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Qs
• Work cross-functionally across the Company on SEC reporting matters for preparation and review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A, and relevant disclosure checklists
• Drive the quarterly drafting and review cycle including the quarterly disclosure committee meetings and meetings with the leaders of the business functions
• Assist in the preparation/review of audit schedules for the quarterly reviews and annual audit
• Research and document accounting ‘Statement of Position’ for complex transactions
• Partner up with business functions to assist with evaluation of potential transactions and provide advice regarding accounting implications to drive the desired business outcome
• Follow emerging accounting issues and proactively analyze their impact on the Company’s results and financial position and lead implementation of new accounting standards
• Draft and update corporate policies and procedures, as needed

Requirements

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• Master’s degree strongly preferred
• CPA, active license status required

• 12+ years’ experience in top-tier public accounting firms and/or public company environment, with 7+ years’ of SEC reporting and technical accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research and preparation of accounting position papers
• Ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to relevant stakeholders throughout the Company
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and manage individuals
• Outstanding project management skills to establish and meet deadlines
• Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills; ability to articulate complex accounting issues clearly, succinctly and in plain English
• Excellent interpersonal skills, detail oriented, with high level of ethics and integrity
