RumbleOn Hiring for Director – Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting Job at Irving, TX Full Time

RumbleOn is adding a key position at our headquarters in Irving, TX – Director of Technical Accounting & External Reporting. This newly-created position will assist in all aspects of technical accounting research and SEC reporting for the nation’s largest retailer of powersports vehicles.

The Director of Technical Accounting & External Reporting will ensure the integrity and accuracy of the Company’s SEC filings, as well as assist with technical accounting research, analysis, and documentation of significant or unusual transactions and recently issued accounting standards. The successful candidate will facilitate the quarterly review and annual audit processes and will liaise with our external auditors. This role requires strong technical background and US GAAP experience specifically in debt accounting, leases, variable interest entities, derivatives, revenue, and stock-based compensation. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual who exhibits the drive to produce results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage the company’s SEC reporting function including the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K and 10-Qs
• Work cross-functionally across the Company on SEC reporting matters for preparation and review of financial statements, footnote disclosures, MD&A, and relevant disclosure checklists
• Support the quarterly drafting and review cycle including attending the quarterly disclosure committee meetings and meetings with the leaders of the business functions
• Assist with the preparation/review of audit schedules for the quarterly reviews and annual audit
• Partner with business functions to assist with evaluation of potential transactions and provide advice regarding accounting implications to achieve the desired business outcome
• Follow emerging accounting issues and proactively analyze their impact on the Company’s results and financial position and implement new accounting standards
• Report to VP Corporate Controller

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• Master’s degree preferred
• CPA, active license status required

• 7+ years experience in top-tier public accounting firms and/or public company environment, with 5+ years of SEC reporting and technical accounting experience
• Strong technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and SEC reporting standards, as well as experience with technical research and preparation of accounting position papers
• Ability to clearly and concisely document and effectively communicate complex accounting and reporting issues to relevant stakeholders throughout the Company
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and manage individuals
• Excellent oral and written communication and analytical skills; ability to articulate complex accounting issues clearly, succinctly, and in plain English
• Excellent interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, with a high level of ethics and integrity
• Ability to work on site full time at our office in Irving, TX
