The position: The Vice President of Property Accounting will be based out of our Austin Corporate office. The VP of Property Accounting will oversee our growing property accounting team with the goal of providing industry-leading reporting, improving internal control, increasing efficiency and executing a plan for growth of the department. This position reports directly to the CFO.

The position: The Vice President of Property Accounting will be based out of our Austin Corporate office. The VP of Property Accounting will oversee our growing property accounting team with the goal of providing industry-leading reporting, improving internal control, increasing efficiency and executing a plan for growth of the department. This position reports directly to the CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Direct reports include three Directors; oversees accounting staff of approximately 50+ team members in four cities responsible for the accounting and reporting for over 360 properties.
- Member of the Executive Committee which guides multi-functional strategic initiatives across the organization.
- Oversees all activities of the accounting team including internal reporting initiatives, client reporting and communication, annual audits, internal control, training and staffing.
- Attends business meetings between senior leadership and new clients to discuss their accounting and reporting requirements in order to meet client expectations.
- Coordinates with internal and external recruiters to obtain new talent as necessary for the growth and operation of the accounting team.
- Responsible for the learning and development of the property accounting team.
Qualifications:
- Accounting Degree, CPA Required, MBA a plus
- Experience in property management is a BIG plus.
- Limited travel required (10% or less)
