Full Job Description

Overview:

R&P is looking for a general engineer, junior, who wants to join our DDG-51 Systems Enginering Branch support team in support of the DDG 51 Acquisition Program Office. We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the DDG 51 Acquisition Program Office, providing System Engineering services.
  • Provide engineering support across a range of systems in support of the resolution of engineering issues.
  • The engineering team supports work in the following areas:

    • Review design documentation including drawings, Revision Notices (RNs), Design Budget Engineering Team (DBETS) Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), functional transition design packages, kickoff/50%/90% design review material, and ship specifications to ensure that they are in accordance with contract requirements.
    • Perform technical reviews, recommend and coordinate responses, and maintain databases (as applicable) for Liaison Inquiries (LIs), Requests for Clarification, Information and Assistance (RCIAs), and requests for waivers/deviations, CDRLs and other technical documentation, as required.
    • Provide engineering and administrative assistance for system reviews and technical meetings including but not limited to Aviation IPTs, Ship Program Reviews (SPR) Technical Issues Meetings, Failure Review Boards, ), Requests for Clarification, Information and Assistance (RCIA) meetings, Electric Plant Design Working Groups (EPDWG), Risk Review Board, and DDG Top Technical Issues (DDG TTI).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum experience: 0-3 years of professional experience on Navy platforms performing engineering work
  • Preferred experience: DDG51 or Surface Combatant experience highly preferred
  • Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or preferred experience
  • Secret Clearance; potential for contingent hire pending receipt of clearance.
  • Preferred Specialized experience: DDG51 or Surface Combatant experience preferred.

Salary:
