Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Hiring for Education and Simulation Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine Job at London, England Full Time

We would welcome candidates from a wide variety of clinical backgrounds including Medicine, Hepatology, Anaesthesia, and Emergency medicine. Airway skills are not specifically required and therefore these posts would be ideal for any candidate wishing to extend their experience in Intensive care medicine. For Senior Clinical Fellow posts we expect completion of membership exams in base specialty or FRCA Primary, as well as completion of CT2/3 level training base specialty. You will be well supported by our dedicated team of 21 ICU Consultants.

Posts can be clinical or can include a clinical role plus a dedicated commitment to Post-graduate Education or Research. The Royal Free Hospital Intensive Care Unit is recognised for training at all levels of intensive care. Educational supervision is provided and attendance at ICU teaching programme is expected. Post duration for Senior Clinical fellow posts is 6 months for clinical posts and 12 months for those offering combination of research or education qualifications with clinical work.

The Royal Free Hospital has a total complement of 42 Intensive Care beds (mixed level 2 and level 3) and this capacity is currently being expanded to include a Liver Intensive Care Unit and a post anaesthesia care unit (PACU). All medical and surgical specialties, with exception of neurosurgery and cardiothoracic surgery and ECMO are covered. The Renal unit at the Royal Free provides services for the whole of the North Central sector. Tertiary specialist services include liver transplantation, hepatobiliary (HPB), plastic and vascular surgery. With the recent expansion and amalgamation of HPB services at the Royal Free Hospital, we are now one of the largest centres in Europe in terms of these surgical procedures.

The total throughput of patients is in excess of 1600 per year. Senior medical cover is provided by 20 Consultants, who provide a 24 hour service.
