This is a full time maternity cover post.

Job summary

To provide administrative support to the post graduate education team in the following areas:

• Professional Development Phase (PDP)
• Continual Professional development (CPD)
• Post nominal group
• Veterinary Graduate Development Programme (VetGDP)
• Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice
• Recognition of Specialists and Advanced Practitioners

To provide administrative support around the implementation, audit and follow up of CPD for Veterinary Surgeons and Veterinary Nurses.

Act as a first point of contact in the department and contributing to the general work of the department by undertaking such other duties as may be required by other members of the team.

Key responsibilities

• To act as the first point of contact for the Education Department and answer phone and email enquiries.
• To produce and send CPD audit requests and reminders, review and scan CPD records and insert data onto our database.
• To assist the Lead for Postgraduate Education in responding to CPD enquires and contacting members if required, to check contact details and CPD status, updating spreadsheets and the database as required.
• To answer queries (or redirect as required) regarding the RCVS CPS recording platform (1CPD) and maintain a log of any issues / bugs requiring follow up.
• Support the Senior Education Officer in administrating PDP.
• Provide administrative support for the postnominal group.
• Contribute to departmental team discussions on developing procedures and day-to-day operational issues
• Contribute to the work of the Education Department by undertaking other duties that may be required to support the team

Essential experience and qualities:

• Highly organised with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work accurately and pay attention to detail
• To effectively amend plans / schedules in order to meet changing requirements
• Experience of working as part of a team and willingness to provide support to colleagues
• Experience of responding to enquiries in a professional manner
• Effective and professional communication with arrange of individuals, from different sources
• Competence in the use of a variety of IT systems, including databases

Desirable experience and skills:

• Experience of working with committees, and taking formal notes
• Familiarity with the veterinary / education sector
• Willingness to learn
