We are seeking a highly proactive and motivated individual with a strong commitment to a career in human resources to join the HR department.
As HR Operations Coordinator you are responsible for coordinating the provision of an excellent HR transaction and payroll service to the College’s 500 permanent staff, visiting lecturers and other hourly-paid staff (in total approximately 2,500 annually). You will coordinate the workload for the HR Operations Team and act as the first point of escalation for all queries, escalating to the Head of HR Operations when necessary. You will be providing first-line support and guidance for staff and line managers on a range of HR topics, ensuring a professional and efficient administrative service across all areas of HR operations and the full employee lifecycle.
You will have significant HR transactional experience gained in a busy and challenging environment, experience of payroll administration processes, experience of using Excel to manipulate and present information, and have strong numeracy skills and a very high level of attention to detail. Experience of working within Higher Education, and experience of using HR and Finance systems would be an advantage, along with:
Demonstrable experience of working in a busy transactional HR team or Shared Services team.
Extensive experience of managing/coordinating HR transactions including preparing, inputting and checking a wide range of payroll data into a HRIS.
Demonstrable excellent customer service skills and a customer centred approach.
Experience of managing a team, setting objectives and writing appraisals.
Evidence of strong planning (time management) and organisational skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate and engage effectively across all levels of the College, including students, staff and external suppliers.
Ability to handle sensitive & confidential issues.
