Summary

In 2021, Kew launched its Manifesto for Change and training the next generation of experts is one of Kew’s five key priorities for the next 10 years. We are now looking for a highly competent member of our Science education support team to coordinate and administer a range of training opportunities for undergraduates, postgraduates and professionals.

This is a varied role where your ability to deliver highly efficient education coordination is as important as the relationships you build up across Kew and externally. You’ll coordinate a number of Continuing Professional Development courses, oversee our British Accreditation Council teaching accreditation, support Kew’s paid internship programme as well as coordinate academic training delivered to a large number of UK and international universities.


Job description

Working closely with Kew staff and external partner organisations, you will be adept at managing large and complex projects, and able to quickly get up-to-speed with digital resources including online learning platforms. Ideally, you’ll have a background or interest in biodiversity science, and understand the themes of research undertaken at Kew, but it will be your ability to work both collaboratively and flexibly, combined with the skills to cut through complex course coordination and IT challenges to find innovative and effective solutions, which will be most valuable.


Responsibilities

This is a hands-on position where your energy, style of communication and problem-solving skills are just as important as IT literacy, higher education experience and scientific knowledge.
