Job Description
What is the opportunity?
Become a subject mater expert in Fixed Income and Equities settlement processes and platforms. Primarily supporting Broadridge’s Gloss platform and its integration within RBC post-trade architecture. You will develop deep understanding of post-trade capital markets transaction lifecycle processing. Supporting Business and Client Services through their ambitious digitization journey, whilst supporting the delivery of major business driven initiatives as well as smaller initiatives and day-to-day business support.
What will you do?
System Development
- Liaise with the business to clarify requirements, design, put together a technical solution and document functional and technical specifications including detailed research of report, file and software changes.
- Work with the project managers across the business both locally and globally.
- Write system design and software specifications to documented standards
- Track CM Tech initiatives and directives and look to adopt and align with CM Tech strategy
Production Support
- Provide third level production support as dictated by the needs of the business.
Team Work
- Provide support and flexibility to fellow peers and members of project teams globally.
Relationship Management
- Maintain productive contacts and relationships with internal business teams, and Change Management both locally and globally whilst creating working relationships
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- JAVA 1.8 development experience.
- Ability to research, code, test, document and maintain software
- Understand and apply an Agile mindset to Project development.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to effectively communicate (written and orally) with clients, operations, staff and management.
- Business knowledge of financial institutions, understanding of fixed income and equities post-trade processes.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of design, development and maintenance of Java based applications
Nice-to-have
- Sun Certified Java Programmer and Enterprise Architect.
- Experience developing/supporting Broadridge Gloss platform or other fixed income/equities settlement platform.
