Our Bloor West Village store is on the lookout for a friendly person with interest in sustainable farming practices and a passion for food and service.
Schedule:
The successful candidate will be scheduled for 3-5 shifts per week.
Work shifts will be primarily 9am to 5pm or 11am to 7pm, with most shifts being during the week, and from time-to-time on the weekends.
Full-time employees are entitled to group benefits coverage following the waiting period.
All employees of our company receive two consecutive days off per week.
Compensation:
$16/hour.

We are protecting our workers through very strict sanitation and hygiene practices, physical distancing requirements, plexiglass barriers, limits on customer numbers allowed in our stores, daily health-assessment logs, mask/face covering requirements, and by following recommendations and requirements from Public Health at all levels of government, as well as the industry guidelines introduced by the Ontario Government.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Work safely and in compliance with our policies and processes.
Create a best-in-class experience for our valued customers.
Answer customer questions, making recommendations, and generally providing strong and positive customer service is a very high priority for this position.
Provide assistance and information upon request or to anticipate customer needs.
Process customer payments.
Bag customer purchases.
Make recommendations and present alternatives to out-of-stock items.
Ensure our shelves are well stocked and organized.
Answer the telephone.
Establish solutions to customer challenges.
Maintain current and complete knowledge of our products.
Complete tasks as directed by a manager.
Work positively and productively with the rest of the team.
Other duties are assigned as required by the business.
Qualifications and Skills:
Interest in learning to cut meat is a strong asset.
High school education or equivalent is an asset but not required.
1 year of experience in a customer-facing and engaging role in retail and/or a similar environment is required.
Knowledge of the meat industry is an asset but not required.
Excellent verbal communication skills are required.
Experience using a POS is an asset but not required.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, busy retail store.
Ability to solve problems quickly.
Ability to prioritize work tasks, multi-task, and maintain focus while working under pressure.
Ability to handle standing, bending, lifting, reaching frequently.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a sometimes cold environment.
Worker Health & Safety Awareness Certificate is an asset.
Valid Food Handler’s and First Aid Certifications are an asset.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Must be willing and able to follow our evolving Covid-19 protocols.
