The Opportunity

Create high quality customer facing technical content, to position Rotork ahead of it’s competitors.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Author who will be responsible for the content of our published sales and after sales literature, including white papers, industry overviews and application focus documents and contribute to website content. You will be expected to establish a good understanding of the product or application to produce documentation, through training and research and then present this concisely.

You will be working as part of the Marketing team (reporting to the Group Events Manager) and collaborating closely with engineering, sales, technical support and technical training. As Technical Author, you will be working on creating, editing, and reviewing client-facing documents / end-user documentation, including product documentation.

You will act as an intermediary between detailed engineering documents and easily understood customer facing material. You will be responsible in ensuring that critical publications meet our commercial obligations and legal requirements.

The role may involve some international travel from time to time to liaise with factories and offices or to help out with customer events.

This is an fantastic opportunity to really bring creativity and flair to technical sales and after-sales technical content for customer-facing material.

Experience Requirements:

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a technical writing environment
• Ability to deliver high quality documentation, with a high level of attention to detail
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures
• Excellent written skills in English
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other authoring software
• Engineering background with HNC or degree
• Strong interpersonal skills

The Successful Candidate Will Be Someone Who:

• Liaises and understands complex technical messages and can translate these into a clear, customer-facing language
• Manages their own workload and priorities, but not afraid to ask for assistance if needed
• Reacts to the addition of special requests without compromising the day-to-day workload and targets
• Uses their experience of authoring tools / software to drive the creation of high quality of content in a timely manner
• Keeps accurate and auditable records of content creation and updates for traceability and to ensure KPIs are met
