Rothman Orthopaedic Institute Hiring for Medical Assistant – Urgent Care at Marlton, NJ Full Time

Location: 999 NJ-73 Suite 401, Marlton, NJ 08053

Office Hours: M-F: 8am – 7:30pm; Sat – Sun: 9am – 5pm

Position Hours: 4 days working and 3 days off; will work weekends on a bi-weekly basis

• Weeks when working 2 weekdays and 2 weekend days: two days of 12-hr shifts and two days of 8-hr shifts
• Weeks when working 4 weekdays: two days of 12-hr shifts and two days of 8-hr shifts OR four days of 10-hr shifts

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED minimum education requirement
• Medical office procedures and medical terminology knowledge required
• Computer skills including, but not limited to, MS Office

Responsibilities

• Greets patients in the waiting room and escorts them to the exam room. Directs patient to surgery scheduling and/or front desk for checkout.
• Maintains order, cleanliness, and inventory in the exam room, and prepares exam room for patients to enter.
• Cleans and autoclaves instruments.
• Provides and scans proper paperwork into the chart for Physician’s review.
• Records vitals per Physician’s request.
• Prepares injections for the Physician.
• Pulls up x-rays, MRI’s, CT’s, and various studies pertaining to the patient’s exam.
• Assists patient with clothing when necessary.
• Disposes of bio hazardous waste and sharps according to OSHA regulation, and replaces sharps containers when existing containers are full.
• Answers telephones in patient areas.
• Requests s for various facilities for Physicians.
• Empties and restocks laundry.
• Scans appointment tracking to identify when patients are ready to be seen by the Physician and directs Physician in patient appointment order.
• Reviews Physician schedules for chart preparation including ensuring operative s, dictations, and studies are present in the chart.
• Completes pre-certifications for MRI’s, injectable, and other Physician orders as necessary.
• Scans information into patient record (including all Physician orders, prescriptions, etc. on the date of service.)
• Send Visco Injection authorization request to supplement pre-certification representative
• Covers other areas in the office when not assigned to a Physician.
• Attends required meetings and participates on committees as requested.
• Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.
