This position resides within the Mechanical Process Development Group. The group’s primary responsibilities are to support ongoing change management and manufacturing shop floor activities within System Assembly production. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and accuracy of our procedures, work instructions, design and implement tooling/process for manufacturing and product, through consulting with technical owners and shop floor personnel, scheduled audits, and quality data metrics. Attention to detail, ability to work with others and a broad manufacturing process knowledge are key assets for this role.

What the job is all about:

• Developing and maintaining System Assembly manufacturing processes, with an ability to project manage process implementation projects, including the review and the acquisition of capital assets
• Knowledge of Manufacturing Execution System (MES) with an understanding of auditing on BOM’s, operational sequences and work instruction for completeness
• Estimate manufacturing cost to determine time standards.
• Have 3D CAD experience to design, fabricate and implement any fixturing to optimize process/test workflows.
• Collaboration with all types of stakeholders, from functional areas as well as different levels of management are key factors in your role.
• An understanding of the latest manufacturing techniques to implement continuous improvement and strive for excellence with the use of tools such as Kaizen, PFMEAs, SPC and DOE.
• This role requires collaboration and continuous engagement with our R&D and NPI teams to ensure System Assembly processes are developed for future production needs.

Who you are:

• Post-secondary education in mechatronics or mechanical or industrial processing or has electronics enclosure manufacturing experience and some background in quality and understands the corrective action process
• Background in electronics and enclosure manufacturing with 5 years preferred experience
• Ability to work independently or can be part of a team
• Collaborating with technical and non-technical staff in an organized way
• A work ethic that presents persistently with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Solid communication skills in English, both written and verbal
• Confident in making decisions based on the Company’s best interest are essential elements in this role
• An advanced level of knowledge with standard office tools (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) CAD related software and Microsoft Project is preferred

Bonus points if you have the following:

• A technical background is a solid asset
• Prior experience in Printed Circuit Board Assembly, Six Sigma methodologies, 3D CAD software, MES, and other related software
