Position Summary: The Development Manager serves a crucial Advancement role in the day-to-day management and processes of the Development Office. This position is responsible for supervising and gift processing and data entry as well as reporting and data extraction. The Development Manager is the supervisor to one, regular part-time position. The role will grow as the Development Department expands. Note: Our organization is embarking on a multi-year Capital Campaign and is continuing to grow our Annual Giving program. The ideal candidate thrives on accuracy and organization, loves working with people and data, and is familiar with Development standards, database operations, and has proficiency with language (spelling and grammar) and numbers.

Principal Responsibilities

• Entering and reconciliation of donations and donor data into The Raiser’s Edge database in a timely and accurate manner
• Importing donation and donor data from external sources and review the imported batches for proper coding and entry
• Maintaining electronic backups for all donations
• Configuring, maintaining, and processing monthly, quarterly, and annual recurring donations
• Preparing acknowledgement letters regularly, and other mailings on an as needed basis
• Assisting Director of Development with driving stewardship for the organization
• Preparing contact lists for online fundraising campaigns and direct mail pieces
• Assisting in the on-site fundraising events and reconciliation process
• Collaborating with Senior Leadership Team and directing data cleanup and maintenance projects
• Supervising the Part-time Development Associate Role

Required Education and Experience

• Experience with CRM software required; experience with The Raiser’s Edge preferred
• Significant experience with MS Office products, including proficiency with Word and Excel; and strong computer skills
• Candidate must have extreme attention to detail and accuracy as well as the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to work with donors and data with exceptional accuracy and confidentiality
• Supervisory experience, preferred
• Development/Philanthropy experience

Physical Demands

• Sits/stands at desk 90% of the day
• Near visual acuity essential for computer related work
• Hearing and speaking essential for telephone communication
• Able to lift and transport up to 25 lbs
• Physically able to climb stairs and perform tasks as needed
