The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the logistical processing of customer orders, by providing quotes, pick-up and delivery of freight that proves beneficial to customers and CSA Transportation. This includes effective coordination with sales staff, dispatchers, customer service representatives, warehouse and shippers. __

Job Description

• Arrange daily transportation, schedule staff, and deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay
• Supervise drivers
• Plan truck routes
• Coordinating/planning truck maintenance
• Maintain ongoing relationship and communication with carriers.
• Verify invoices, investigate invoice issues and process invoices for payment.
• Co-ordinate Shipping forecasts with Sales.
• Liaise with other locations.
• Determine problem laneways and offer possible solutions.
• Maintain carrier safety/insurance records and CVOR.
• Work with Quality Assurance on Customer Returns.
• Responsible for third party logistics, dispatching and assigning transportation vendors based on client demands and service requirements.
• Provide efficient and cost effective measures for excellent customer service.
• General account maintenance as required.
• Analyze load information from the customer in order to determine and verify the appropriate routes, border crossing points and rates, and set up the daily schedules
• Ensure the system contains complete and accurate details of the booking including updating status/delivery date.
• Complete audits, confirm orders and bill of lading for shipments.
• Maintain contact with the customer throughout the duration of an order, communicating both positive and negative occurrences.
• Contact dependable drivers, carrier or companies, in order to negotiate needed equipment, dispatch the load, update CSA’s tracking system with finalized details in a concise and timely fashion and participate in problem solving as required.
• Streamlines shipping and transportation processes.
• Booking of trucks to match freight available.
• Tracking/Tracing of freight daily
• Compare and negotiate rates / Pricing Requests
• Some use of various software tools to assist in finding equipment/freight and calculating rates.
• Possess a strong safety awareness by wearing personal protective equipment at all times and performing duties in a safe manner
• Maintain a clean work area and facility
• Operate industrial material handling equipmen such as tow motor, crane and lift truck.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in logistic, shipping and receiving in high volumes metals industry, or similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer literacy skills with previous experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
• Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills for a demanding and customer focused working environment.
• Possess the ability to work productively, efficiently & effectively while maintaining a high degree accuracy and attention to detail.
• Team player with a positive “can-do” attitude.
• Highly organized with the ability to multitask and establish priorities.
• Quick learner.
• Valid forklift license or minimum 1 year of forklift experience preferably with heavy material is an asset.
• Experience using Raymond Reach, overhead cranes and variety of power tools is an asset.
