Rogers Group, Inc Hiring for Plant Manager Tuscumbia Quarry at Tuscumbia, AL Full Time

We are seeking a Plant Manager for one of our limestone quarry operations located in the Tuscumbia, Alabama area. The position s to the Area Production Manager. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising emphasis on safety excellence, be a self-starter and will have responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

• Supervising quarry/mine employees and plant operations in a limestone surface mine
• Overseeing proper implementation of safety procedures
• Control costs to meet budgets and reduce costs to achieve savings
• Identify deficiencies and implement a plan for continuous improvement
• Effectively manage staff by setting clear performance objectives, providing regular feedback and providing development through training
• Ensure compliance with all Company and Government policies and regulations
• Direct mine and pit planning
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting
• Ensure processes for quality product production and collaborate with area QC department
• Actively reaching out and being involved in the local community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or similar is strongly preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quarry operations
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role
• Working knowledge of profit and loss statements and basic accounting principles
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to develop leadership at the lead person and foreman levels
• Demonstrated ability in identifying, communicating, and implementing best operating practices, including quality, maintenance, production, and safety excellence
• Proven safety record and excellent compliance in MSHA safety standards
• Possess strong basic math knowledge
• Basic surveying and mapping skills are required
• Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices
• Working knowledge of AggQC and AggFlow is a plus
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office
