We are looking for a Sr. Developer, to build and manage the platform for a new BSS technology stack. Reporting to the Sr. Development Manager of Prepaid Technology at the Rogers Park Brampton Campus, you will work with both business and technical stakeholders to understand requirements in the prepaid BSS (Billing support systems) domain, Design and deliver technical solutions for our partners. This position requires creativity, innovation and collaborate with various cross-functional teams across Rogers.

What you will be doing

As a Sr. Developer, you will:
Participate in the overall design, development, implementation, operation, maintenance, and enhancement of applications and projects

Review and contribute to user requirements and design and develop highly efficient code for high-volume, mission-critical systems

Work closely with members of the development and QA teams to review requirements and implement solutions

Design, develop and implement micro services in Azure and/or AWS via CICD Pipelines

Design, develop Java Applications in various Java Versions and Environments.

Ensure optimal performance, reliability, availability, and security

Participate in cost optimization

Work with Development Manager, other teammates, vendors (internal and external) and other IT teams to design and implement projects.

Improve product quality through code reviews, writing effective unit tests, and collaborating with QA to implement automation testing where appropriate.

What you have

5+ years of Development experience

3+ years of experience developing enterprise applications in Java

Hands on experience with projects on Spring Boot, Java 11, Postgres/Aurora (Must have)

Experience designing, developing, securing and consuming Web services (Restful and SOAP-based services).

Experience with relational and non relational databases (MSSQL, ORACLE, Postgres/Aurora etc.)

Proficient understanding of SCM tools and best practices (GIT, Maven, Gradle, Jenkins).

Experience working with Microservices architecture, Cloud Deployment, CI/CD, API/ Microservices Design

Knowledge of API security patterns: OAuth, SSL/TLS

Experience with Spring Cloud, Spring Data, Spring Security, streaming platforms like Apache Kafka, Apache Spark

Experience with Jira

Able to work in a fast-paced environment with aptitude for achieving results.

Have an analytical mindset and possess strong troubleshooting skills

Excellent communication skills with both Technical and Non-Technical audiences

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
