Our product is a handheld data collection tool that enables engineers to capture real-time numerical data. We combine our proprietary algorithm with the same sensors found in autonomous cars assembled in a rugged casing.

Job Description

This position will be responsible for the smooth production of the full supply chain at RockMass, from sourcing the BOM on time, monitoring in-house assembly progress, to allocating and keeping track of units deployed in-field. This position will oversee the production process of inhouse unit development as well as shipping and logistics.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of the production department, under the direction of the VP electical engineering

Ensure production teams are properly staffed and optimized.

Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets through managing the unit allocation system (Microsoft Lists and Excel)

Plan and manage the establishment of the department budget, BOM (bill of material) purchasing strategically, (I.e., ensuring materials arrive on time for assemblers while maintaining steady cash flow by negotiating payment terms and ensuring enough parts are available for unit assembly)

Update BOM stock levels monthly by using Fiix Inventory Management software

Prepare product for shipment by packaging all unit accessories

Coordinate with logistics company to send out shipments and prepare relevant customs documentation such as the commercial invoice and packing list

Participate in quarterly management meetings to forecast unit production for the following quarter

Communicating/ following up with BOM vendors on incoming shipments to ensure items are received in a timely manner

Communicating between the hardware/assembly team and business team

Other duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or Engineering

Previous experience in warehouse, manufacturing or supply chain industries

Experience with embedded devices

Experience managing and maintaining production inventory

Strong knowledge of product shipping and logistics

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Knowledge of process improvement, budgeting, and production standards

Nice to have

Experience purchasing electrical or mechanical parts, reading data/specification sheets

Experience purchasing BOM in batches for an assembly line
