The position:

As an affiliate Finance Business Partner (FBP), you are a member of the Cluster Finance Team reporting to the Affiliate Finance Manager. In your role, you will act as a key partner to the commercial organization and the support functions to ensure the attainment of the financial objectives and assist the implementation of the global Diabetes Care (DC) strategy. Your focus is to support the local affiliate while you work and collaborate within the Roche finance network.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to:

Business partnership

• Partner with the commercial team and the enabling functions in planning and analysis of business performance
• Support the strategic planning, budgeting and forecasting process
• Turn data into meaningful insights to influence and impact business decision making propose, actions to ensure right investments are in place to achieve our strategy
• Evaluate profitability scenarios and present outcomes to the stakeholders

Finance and controlling

• Collaborate closely with Roche Services & Solutions (RSS) to ensure all month/quarter/year-end close requirements are met
• Ensure robust financial controls and compliance to local statutory, tax and Roche Group Accounting and Reporting standards
• Be responsible for cost centre allocation and adequacy of accruals including preparation of manual journal entries, review and approve payroll journals and balance sheet account reconciliations
• Prepare monthly tax journals and lodgment of the BAS/GST, FBT, WHT and income tax returns
• Assist the Finance Manager for the review and update of the transfer pricing documentation and liaison with external tax agents in relation to this
• Local point of contract to local banking partners; collaborate with Treasury Team on cash management
• Monitor and work towards improvement of Net Operating Assets (NOA)
• Support both internal and external audit requirements
• Manage corporate secretarial matters; ensure proper and timely update of corporate records and filing

Business operations

• SAP key user, master data maintenance for finance
• Assist and act as back-up for local AP and AR activities where required
• Completion of government surveys
• Ensure adherence to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and data privacy policies
• Participate in transformation projects using agile and lean methodology

Who you are:

You have Professional Accounting qualification (CPA, CA, ACA, CIMA) with at least five years of finance and accounting experience in a commercial environment.

You have proven record of ensuring financial governance and a strong network with the internal and external financial communities, in particular collaboration with shared service centres and centres of excellence.

As a senior accountant, you have strong understanding of International Financial Accounting Rules and proficient in SAP R/3 and data modelling.

With fluency in written and spoken English, you have excellent communication skill.
