Job description

We are looking for a qualified Preschool Teacher with a passion for child development. A preschool teacher must have a great love and patience for children, be enthusiastic, and have strong classroom & behavior management skills. Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, curriculum development, and social emotional foundations are important skills that those interested in this position must possess. Our goal is to contribute to the healthy mental, and emotional development of the students as well as work on kindergarten readiness so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education.

Responsibilities

• Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children
• Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other in a positive way and initiate social problem solving skills
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify basic shapes, work on name recognition, participate in sensory experiences, etc.)
• Organize nap and snack hours and supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
• Track children’s progress through our observational assessment tool and conduct parent conferences
• Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
• Collaborate with other educators on the N.E.S.T team
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Qualifications

• Education: A Child Development Associate, Associates degree in Early Childhood, or a Bachelors degree in Ealy Childhood or related field[Some qualifications you may want to include are Skills, Education, Experience, or Certifications.]
• Experience: Two years of experience teaching in a licensed childcare center
• Certifications: CPR/First Aid is preferred but not required
• Skills We Look For: experience in a preschool setting, classroom management skills, reliable and punctual, strong work ethic, curriculum development skills, clear verbal and written communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 – $18.00 per hour
